THIS FOLDER CONTAINS ANCILLARY DATA PERTAINING TO YOUR PICTOMETRY IMAGERY. IT MAY CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING FOLDERS: _______________________________________________________ DEMS This folder contains the digital elevation models (DEMs) used when processing your Pictometry image library. DEMs are a digital model or 3D representation of a terrain's surface. Pictometry software utilizes elevation information when calculating measurements and when performing certain tasks. Most Pictometry images contain integrated elevation data and do not require use of a separate DEM file. This folder contains these integrated DEM files exported out into a proprietary Pictometry Elevation File format (PEF) for your reference only. If you have images or maps without elevation data you have the option to load either USGS Digital Elevation Files or Pictometry Elevation Files directly into your Electronic Field Study (EFS) workspace. These customer-added elevation files will supersede the integrated elevation information provided by Pictometry. To learn more about loading elevation files into your EFS workspace, please reference page 206 of the EFS 2-7 User Guide. To learn more about Digital Elevation Models, please go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_elevation_model. _______________________________________________________ FGDC METADATA This folder contains the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Metadata for this Pictometry delivery. The FGDC has developed standardized structure for providing information about geospatial data. Pictometry has provided information in this format as a courtesy for those customers that require it. A metadata record is a file of information, usually presented as an XML document, which captures the basic characteristics of a data or information resource. It represents the who, what, when, where, why and how of the resource. Geospatial metadata commonly document geographic digital data such as Geographic Information System (GIS) files, geospatial databases, and earth imagery but can also be used to document geospatial resources including data catalogs, mapping applications, data models and related websites. Metadata records include core library catalog elements such as Title, Abstract, and Publication Data; geographic elements such as Geographic Extent and Projection Information; and database elements such as Attribute Label Definitions and Attribute Domain Values. To learn more about FGDC Metadata, please go to http://www.fgdc.gov/metadata. _______________________________________________________ IMAGE POLYGON SHAPEFILES This folder contains the Image Polygon shapefiles demonstrating the coverage areas for associated Pictometry images included with this delivery. For Pictometry oblique and orthogonal coverage, these shapefiles include NOB, NOR, COB and COR in the title. These represent your neighborhood oblique, neighborhood orthogonal, community oblique and community orthogonal coverages, respectively. The shapefile DBFs contain associated imagery metadata and are in the World Geodetic System (WGS) 1984 standard. Also included are shapefiles representing coverage for any tile or mosaic products included in this delivery. These shapefiles are typically projected in the customer requested coordinate system. These shapefiles are provided as a courtesy for your use, should you require it. _______________________________________________________ Pictometry International Corp. 100 Town Centre Drive, Suite A Rochester, NY 14623-4260 Toll-free: 888-771-9714 ext 260 Local: 585-486-0093 Fax: 585-486-0098 Email: customersupport@pictometry.com
