Pictometry Online lets you start and stop a continuous pan in any direction by using the Navigation Compass.
To use continuous pan:
1 Position your cursor at the edge of the Navigation Compass (on or between the arrowheads) in a position representing the direction you wish to go. (The image will move in the opposite direction.)
2 Hold down the left mouse button until the image or map reaches the desired location.
