The Status Bar
The Status Bar, (located at the bottom of the Pictometry Online application), shows information pertinent to the action being performed. For example, for images, it shows the results of measurements (such as distance or area), the date on which the image was taken, the Level, and the Scale (percentage of magnification of the image). For road map view, the Level and Scale are not applicable and are not shown.

The level is an indicator of the general altitude at which the image was shot. There are two levels:
- Neighborhood -- shot from a lower altitude (than a Community level image) allowing you to focus in on details, such as the location of fire hydrants or the heights of buildings.
- Community -- shot from a higher altitude and consequently, showing more geographic area. Community images are helpful for locating and navigating to points of interest.
