The Navigation window
The Navigation window shows either a road map ("R") or a labeled satellite image ("H" for hybrid view) of the geographic area shown in the Image window. You can think of this miniature map or image as a "mini-map."
You can use the Navigation window's mini-map to view a different geographic area in the Image window. Simply drag the map or satellite image with the left mouse button until you see the area you wish to view.
The shaded polygon in the Navigation window shows the direction in which the current image was captured. The center of the polygon corresponds to the area shown in the center of the Image window. If you view an image captured from a different direction, the polygon rotates to show the image's orientation. (The map in the Navigation window is always oriented with north at the top.)
The polygon in the following Navigation window shows that the current image was captured from the west (an "east-up" image).
