The Defaults tab

The Defaults tab is where you can define default values for various annotation properties. The default values are used whenever you create a new annotation.

To set default properties for annotations:

1   Click the Preferences button.

2   If not already in view, click the Defaults tab.

3   Change properties by clicking the desired property and selecting a value, color, line, or font from its list. Use the following table as a guide.

Property

Description

Line Weight

A number from 1 (thinnest) to 6 (thickest), indicating the line thickness to use for line annotations and for the outlines of shape and circle annotations.

Line Color

The color to use for text and line annotations and for the outline of shape and circle annotations.

Line Opacity

The degree of transparency of shape and circle outlines. The lower the percentage, the more transparent the line color will be.

Fill Color

The color to use to fill the inside of shape and circle annotations.

Fill Opacity

The degree of transparency of the fill color for shape and circle annotations. The lower the percentage, the more transparent the fill color will be.

Marker Scale

The scale to use for Marker annotations, expressed as a percentage.

Font

The font to use for text annotations.

Font Size

The font size to use for text annotations.

Zoom Level

The percentage of magnification to use for all annotations.

Icon

The default icon used for Marker annotations.

4   Click OK.
