The Circle Tool

Use the Circle Tool to add a circle to an image. Circle annotations can be helpful for outlining areas in an image. This tool also measures the radius, circumference, and area of the circle you draw in the default unit of measure.

Note:  Before creating the annotation, you can change default properties with the Line color, Fill color, and Line weight toolbar buttons. (You can also change these properties by clicking Preferences->Defaults tab.)

To annotate an image with a circle:

1   Click the Circle Tool. The application switches to drawing mode. (The cursor changes to a crosshair.)

2   Click in the image on the point where you want the center of the circle to be. The point you clicked is marked.

3   Click a point on the circle. A line outlines the circumference and the circle is filled with the default fill color.

4   Click the Pan Tool to end drawing mode.

The annotation is listed as "Circle" in the default annotations folder in the Workspace panel along with a small square showing the line and fill colors of the shape. The radius, circumference, and area measurements are shown in the Status Bar. Annotation properties come from application settings ("Preferences" button, "Defaults" tab). You can change an annotation's properties (color, opacity, line weight, and description in the Workspace panel) at any time by using the Properties panel.

Note:  "Fopacity" refers to fill color opacity. "Opacity" refers to line color opacity.
