Sharing the workspace
When you create a workspace, you are automatically the "Author" and others are denied access. For each workspace you create, Pictometry Online assigns a Share status to you ("Author") and every other user in your network. You'll share an open workspace with another user by changing the Share status for that user.
To change the Share status of the open workspace:
1 From the Workspace operations drop-down menu, choose Share.
The "Sharing" dialog box appears. It lists all other users in your network and the Share status each user currently has for this workspace.

2 Double-click the Share status (the word "Deny", "Viewer", or "Contributor") for the user with whose status you'd like to change.
3 From the drop-down list that appears, choose the desired Share status according to the following table.
|
Share status |
Description |
|
Deny |
User is not allowed any access to the workspace. |
|
Viewer |
User can view and change the workspace, but cannot save changes. |
|
Contributor |
User can make changes and save the changed workspace. However, changes may be lost if the Author or another Contributor makes changes at the same time, depending on who saves the workspace first. |
|
Author |
User can make changes, save the workspace, and create a new workspace to save changes to ("Save As"). However, changes can be lost if a Contributor makes changes at the same time, depending on who saves the workspace first. The user who created the workspace is automatically the Author. |
Important: Authors and Contributors need to coordinate the timing of their changes.
4 Click Save.
When a user opens a workspace as a Viewer or as a Contributor, the workspace opens in its current state. If the Author is working in that same workspace at the same time, the Viewer or Contributor receives the workspace "as is." That is, any unsaved changes the Author made are included. (If they change the workspace, then want to restore it to the state it was when they opened it, they can reload the workspace.)
