Searching by using geocoder engines

Pictometry Online lets you search for a location by its street address by using geocoder search engines such as Microsoft Virtual Earth and PxPoint.

You can also search for a street address by using the parcels or centerline GIS data associated with your imagery. (You can search by street address or by any other field associated with a parcel--any field in the DBF or Centerline file).

To use a geocoder to search by street address:

1   From the Search box, choose the desired geocoder--Address (Microsoft Virtual Earth) or PxPoint.

2   In the box to the right, type the search criteria (the partial or complete street address).

Note:  If using PxPoint, use commas between the fields, as in the following example:
1962 Cedar Grove, Rochester, NY, 14617

3   Click the magnifying glass icon to the right of the search criteria box.

If the address is found, Pictometry Online refreshes the image or map with the location of the address you typed.

If you entered a partial address, Pictometry Online takes you to the center of that area. For example, if you entered a zip code only, Pictometry Online takes you to the center of the area that has that zip code.
