Panning while a tool is active

If a measurement or annotation tool is active, and you need to pan the image before using the tool, you can temporarily activate the Pan tool without switching to it and then switching back to the measurement or annotation tool.

To temporarily activate the Pan tool:

1   Hold down the SPACEBAR. The cursor switches to the hand.

2   Do one of the following:

--  Drag the image or map in the desired direction, then release the mouse button.

- or -

--  In the Navigation window, drag the miniature image or map until the Image window shows the desired area, then release the mouse button.

3   Release the SPACEBAR.

The tool that was active before you panned is still selected, so you can continue to use that tool without having to click it again.
