Getting oriented
When you log in to Pictometry Online, your Image Library
is automatically available. A map or image of the geographic area covered by
your Image Library is shown on the screen. The image or map is centered on the
location of the first bookmark in your workspace.
The following table describes the various parts of Pictometry
Online.

Image window |
The part of the screen in which the image or road map is
shown. |

Sidebar |
The area (on the left side of the screen) that shows the
Workspace panel and the Properties panel. |

Workspace panel |
The panel (at the top of the Sidebar) that shows your
workspace contents (annotations, bookmarks, and layers). |
|
Properties panel |
The panel (at the bottom of the Sidebar) that shows
information about the folder or item selected in the Workspace panel. |

Toolbar |
Contain buttons for Pictometry Online features and
tools. |
|
Navigation Control |
The graphic overlay (in the upper right corner of the
Image window) that contains buttons for switching between the image and the
road map, a Navigation Compass for panning the image, and left and right
arrows to show the next or previous image of the same area shown in the Image
window. |
|
Status Bar |
The area (along the bottom of the screen) that shows
information about the action being performed, such as measurement results and
the coordinates of the area selected with the Location Tool. For images it
also shows the image Level and the Scale. |
|
Navigation window |
The window (located in the lower right corner of the
screen) that shows a road map or a satellite image of the geographic area
shown in the Image window. You can use the Navigation window to navigate to a
different part of the image. The light blue rectangle highlights the part of
the map or image that is currently shown in the Image window. |
